Today was an unordinary day where we work worked with our charity, Charity: Water. It was founded by a young man who did a medical mission trip to Africa and realized that a large majority of all their medical problems are linked to the dirty water they drink. 100% of all public donations actually goes straight to helping dig wells so people can have clean water and live better lives and $5,000 can give clean water to an entire village! If you're looking for a charity to give to this one is incredible! We had a town hall meeting where all VF employees (those in the Nautica and Kipling brand) in New York met to learn about what is going on new in the company. After the meeting we received Nautica aviators and samples of their new fragrance for men, Aqua Rush (sooo good!) After the town hall meeting all morning we went to go clean the Hudson River and had an educational experience of learning about life in the water by fishing! It was great looking down the pier and seeing all of the employees standing there fishing, some for the first time in their life! Out of all of us we caught an eel, a fish and a Styrofoam pipe. I never knew how dirty the Hudson was...in the 3 hours we were cleaning, amongst all the trash we found an old sewing machine, a tire and a spiderman mask. It was far from an ordinary day but it was nice getting to know everyone that worked in the building. I even got introduced the president of Nautica and met people in other departments. It was also nice to see a company who is so successful give back to the community. Below are pictures from the summer so far...

PS!!!!! Yesterday was an awesome day at the office! I got to meet the creative director for Nautica & we received the shirts that we wore today which was interested because it had a big marlin on the front. When we recieved them I made a comment that they looked like Guy Harvey. I explained that a lot of guys wear his shirts in the south and they are images of fish in motion. No one had ever heard of him before and they asked me to print off some of his work and merchandise so they could look into doing possible work with him! Even if it doesn't happen it's still so exciting that it was only my second day and they listened to something I had to say and were actually interested in it which says so much about this company!
This is a wonderful blog! Love that they're already listening to you, but not at all surprised!! You look beautiful in the photos and it looks like NYC might be agreeing with you! See you next month! Love, Moya
